Thank you For Being a Friend - Woodland Themed Card
While there is no Dorothy or Blanche in this scene, the sentiment on this card front is golden - “thank you for being a friend”.
Featuring an irresistibly cute paper pieced fox and deer nestled together amidst a delightful backdrop of tiny florals, tree stumps, and sprigs of greenery, this card radiates warmth and friendship. The heartfelt sentiment, perfectly expresses appreciation for that special someone in your life.
The card starts with beautiful papers from the Meadow Pattern Paper Collection, and sets a lovely backdrop of sprigs and twigs. I used a checkered pattern for the first layer and cut the next layer from a second coordinating paper using a squiggly rectangle die. It’s a frame die that actually cuts the white squiggly frame layered on this card, however the negative section of the die cut looks equally as attractive - so it’s like a bonus 2 for 1 die. The die is in the bottom left corner of the product photo below.
Definitely a magical die set with all it has to offer to aid in creating beautiful cards.
Which brings us to the next part of the card - the focal image. Created using all of the parts and pieces dies for the deer and the fox. This paper piecing looks tricky but there is handy little photo on the product page, just click and save and you have a reference that makes it easy to piece together these adorable little creatures.
I cut all of the pieces from white cardstock and then used Copic Markers to color and shade them to my liking before adhering them together. The dies also have embossed areas to enhance small details. The pieces can also be cut from colored cardstock and shaded with ink blending… or not.
The dies will also cut the stamped image from the Magic Meadow Stamp set, as well as an outline image. So many possibilities for these adorable characters.

I used the backside of the same paper used to cut the squiggly rectangle along with a grass border die to create a section of grass for the deer and fox to sit in, so they wouldn’t be just floating around on the card front.
The little flower sprigs were cut from the die set and I just quickly colored them with my Copic Markers, however, they could also be cut with colored cardstock and avoid coloring all together if that’s not your thing.
The flower sprigs were added in underneath the sentiment.
The sentiment “thank you for being a friend” was stamped from the Magic Meadow stamp set included in the bundle. It was popped up on foam tape which allowed room for the flowers to be tucked in around it.
Lastly I added a small bow tied with Lawn Trimmings Hemp Twine at the corner of the sentiment.
***Speaking of Stamping - I just want to note here that I have seen some reviews regarding this stamp set with some stamping concerns and this is where I will address my experience with the stamp set.
Stamp quality - some people who purchased this set had noted that the quality was not the same as previous Scrapbook.com produced stamp sets.
I did notice the quality was of a cheaper type material and was far different than previous SBC stamp sets.
Stamp precision - some customers who purchased the stamp set had noted the stamps included in this set were impossible to stand with and that they could not get a precise stamped impression with them.
I had no issues stamping with these stamps so far. I was able to get a clear impression of the deer on first stamp as seen in my previous card. I also stamped the sentiments and had no issues.
It is important to me to give a product an honest review to pass on with all of you, so naturally upon reading the reviews I definitely had to try this stamp & die set out immediately. I have no complaints so far, I am absolutely in love with this bundle.
I recognize that some seem to have had an issue, and in that case should immediately contact Scrapbook.com’s customer service. They are an amazing team and go above and beyond to be sure their customers are satisfied. I will certainly update this little note should I find any issues in the future.
