Super fun Thanksgiving card

This Thanksgiving Turkey is on the run…. EEK!

Not only is the turkey screaming - the card front itself is also “screaming” of fall vibes…

The falling leaves background was made using a stencil and different blended fall colors of ink. It also has a light spray of Tim Holtz Mica Spray in green for a subtle metallic shimmer. The outside edges of this panel were also ink blended with a shade of yellow just to draw the eye to the center focal point of card.

Blending fall leaves with a stencil and ink.

The top and bottom edges of this panel were cut using a deckled edge die to create yet another point of interest for this card.

On top of that gorgeous fall background layer is a 2nd layer of back ground. This layer of background needed to be less distracting - so it consisted of a deckled edge die cut rectangle, one that was small enough to show lots of the intended background but large enough to host the focal images.

This rectangle had the edges shaded with same yellow ink as the original background panel, as well as a fine mist of Mica spray for added glimmer. Foam tape was added to the back of this layer and attached hap hazardly to the card front panel.

The frantic turkey comes from Whimsy Stamps - Gobble This stamp set. He was stamped in Memento Black Ink and then colored with Copic Markers with some feathery details to coordinate with the rest of the card colors. He was attached to the focal panel using foam tape.

Love this frantic looking turkey!!

Next came the EEK! sentiment!! The sentiment is a die cut word from Whimsy Stamps - Eek! Word & Shadow Die and is a super fun die that can be used on so many different cards. I’m certainly getting my monies worth from this die.

The die has 3 different layers to create the words - the letters themselves and then 2 shadow layers. When using this die you have the option to use only the letters, letters with one shadow, or using all 3 layers.

This card uses the letters and both shadow background die layers cut in cardstock colors that would coordinate with the card. With the layers all stacked up it creates a nice added touch of dimension for the sentiment! So that EEK! really stands out.

The tiny “Save Me” sentiment came from the same stamp set - there are several fun sentiments in this stamp set to create playful fun cards. The sentiment was trimmed up with pennant ends and a little of the same yellow ink shaded around the edges of the greeting since stark raving white was just not going to cut it on this card.

This whole panel was then attached to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 layer of Real Red cardstock, then adhered to a card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @ 5 1/2.

A few red rhinestones seemed fitting for the final touch of “extra” for this card front.

EEK! It's a Super Fun Thanksgiving card!

I absolutely love how this card turned out- and I can’t wait to send it to someone for a laugh this Thanksgiving!!
