Incoming Paper Hugs - Card
I love the idea of paper hugs!
In a world where distance can sometimes separate us from our loved ones, a hand-made greeting card becomes a supporting bridge. Transforming simple paper into a heartfelt message that wraps around the recipient like a cozy hug.
Or perhaps, you aren’t one of those “huggable” people and you are somewhat opposed to physical hugs, yes, it’s a thing - this super cute card allows you to convey a message of comfort and support in the form of a paper hug from even right next door.
So whether it’s a cheerful birthday card or just a sweet note - go ahead and #sendsomelove.
This simple yet adorable card starts with a layer white cardstock cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.
Choose a stencil that you love that will add to the playfulness of the scene.
Using a blending brush and inks (the ones I used are in the links below), and just lightly blend random areas with each of the colors.
Add a splatter of black ink, and wait for that to dry.
Stamp & color the images from Lawn Fawn’s tiny Butterfly Kisses stamp set. This stamp set is another of those stamping on a budget sets. I just fussy cut the images, however I assume there are dies if you require them.
Cut 3 layers of the “hugs” die and glue together to create dimension for the word.
Stamp and trim the “incoming paper” words from the Simply Sentimental Stamp Set.
Attach “hugs” to the card front, then the smaller sentiment above the word Hugs.
Arrange and attach the images onto the card front using a mixture of liquid glue and foam tape to create a little bit of interest to the scene.
Add a tiny bit of stickles to the butterflies for just a touch of sparkle.
Lastly add a layer of black cardstock behind the card front layer, and attach a card base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Scored @4 1/4.
