I Think Your Dandy
(And I’m Not Lion) - A Fun Birthday Card
This super cute birthday card is not only sending wishes for a Happy Day it also sends a warm summer vibe, which at this point in March I am absolutely welcome to.
The days have been dreary, full of snow and rain and I am left longing for the site of a dandelion blowing in a subtle warm breeze.
This card brings with it warm vibes, a touch of cuteness and slight bit of humor.
I Think You’re Dandy ( and I’m not Lion ) - such a cute sentiment to go with these adorable little mice who appear to be romping about in dandelion fluff.
Each playful mouse has an ink blended background created using a masking technique and distress inks.
The super cute images are stamped from the Dandy Day stamp set. This collection is designed for easy coloring. Each stamp pairs beautifully with the coordinating die set, effortlessly cutting all of the stamped images. The possibilities are endless when creating with this combo ( I’ve created a few more cards that will be coming up ).
The front card panel was masked off using mint tape to create the rectangular sections behind each scene. Then blend with a combination of Salt Water Taffy into Dried Marigold for the top section. Dried Marigold into Squeezed Lemonade for the middle section. And Twisted Citron into Tumbled Glass for the remaining section on the bottom.
The card front was backed onto a card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @5 1/2 (my favorite layout).
I used my trusty Glue Press & Craft Pick Pro Tool to adhere sparkling gemstones for a little added interest to the card front.
Both of these tools have been life changing for me in my studio. Applying glue to any project is just so easy now - no clogged nozzles and glue applies effortlessly with the Glue Press.
The pick end of the craft pick pro tool makes removing intricate pieces from the die cut so quick & easy, and I love the wax tip end when adding gems or rhinestones to a project paired with the glue press. Done in seconds. No struggling with trying to pick up rhinestones or squeezing out to much glue when adhering such a dainty element.
Love, love, love both of these tools!
Paper Rose Shaker Elements - Clear Crystal are my go to for adding a touch of sparkle to many of my cards. Multiple sizes are included in the package. They are flat backed for easy application and add the perfect amount of shimmer and sparkle. Plus… I think they are just $2.89 right now.
