Happy Fall-o-ween! - Create a Card
A fun way to acknowledge and celebrate the changing of the season, fall leaves, pumpkins, spicy latte, and the thrills and chills of the super spooky upcoming Halloween adventures…
This cute card card featuring Freddy Fox & a pumpkin, actually in a pumpkin - officially kicks off Fall-o-ween in my studio. I’ve designed a few Autumn cards already this season or perhaps something batty?!
Which may or may not have appeared on the blog already.
I have a couple of amazing companies that I design for using their products and that production starts back in July/August, however those cards release at a later date as the Fall Season approaches. So by the time this day rolls around (today, before coffee), I can’t quite remember what may have already been showcased.
This card however was created on a very cool Sunday afternoon ( just a few days ago ) and it ended up on my desk top simply because I wanted to create with this image, and those are always the projects that are the most fun!
This adorable little fox in a pumpkin comes from Polkadoodles - Freddy Fox digital stamps. The images in this collection are definitely cute, fall - late summer themed and at first glance in black and white may not look that over zealous! -
Looks can be deceiving, once you add the color of your choice and some fall themed background paper ( this one comes from the Freddy Fox collection) the image turns from a flat boring sketch on a piece of paper to vibrantly adorable little cutie that just came to life on your card front.
After coloring Freddy the Fox in his pumpkin, I added a little grounding under him so he wasn’t just floating around on my card front. I chose to die cut him with this questionable deckled edge die and discovered that would work out quite well. I backed him onto some left over patterned paper from a previous project using Freddy the Fox, but still included in the Freddy Fox Bundle. So you could choose this paper - or so many others.
Before printing this image, I opened it up in Adobe Express using a project size for an A2 card so that my sizing would be correct for my card front and so that I could also add a few very light leaf images to the background behind the fox. I chose to leave them without coloring just for a bit of added interest and I love how that turned out.
The greeting I chose was a random fall stamp that I had in my stash, because I wanted that particular saying and the curly font of it matched so well with the pumpkin vines in the image. The greeting is actually stamped in a beautiful shade of dark green.
The link below contains Several Freddy Fox images in black & white and precolored, beautiful papers, and tons of Fall/Autumn themed sentiments. It’s been tons of fun to create with…
I hope you have enjoyed the first card featured during Falloween, which will run on the website from now until October 31st. I’ll share some great fall and Halloween themed cards, with some fun techniques. Products will be featured from several different companies and used to create some super fun cards including a few interactive designs.
It’s going to be a “howling” good time! So be sure to check back to see what’s happening during the Falloween Celebration!!
Until then… Happy Crafting!!
