Crossing Guard Gratitude - There is a card for everything!

School is well under way after a long summer break - the neighborhood kids are off in their new shoes, toting backpacks and a super excited attitude to embrace the new school year ( which usually lasts for about 3 days ) …lol

They’ll scamper down the street kicking a few fresh fallen leaves with an astounding thirst for knowledge -round the corner adding old friends along the way who share that first week of school enthusiasm. Eventually they will embark upon the main street of our little village, which needs crossing amid the steady flow of early morning traffic…

Next stop - the crossing guard, the person who assures all of these children get to and from the school each and every day, throughout the whole school year safely and happily. What a huge undertaking and parents, children and the community in itself are so blessed to have these people all garbed in their orange/yellow reflective vests going above and beyond to keep our village children safe as they journey back and forth to school each day.

At this point in the year, I am not sure who our local crossing guard will be this year, I will find out as I get out of my crafting bubble and out into the real world as the days get cooler and my favorite fall season approaches.

This doesn’t go unnoticed to members of the community, even after their children may be grown (like mine) and no longer cross the street to school each day with the local crossing guard. Everyone in our community are so grateful for our local crossing guard (s - we may have 2) and their efforts put forth to keep all of the children safe. throughout the school year.

One of my favorite illustrators also apparently has a passion and respect for the importance of crossing guards. This fun little design was found on the pages of Gerda Steiner Designs entitled - Crossing Guard. This image is not only another amazing Gerda Steiner Design but it’s also another free one.

This is a perfect time to hop on over to Gerda Steiner Designs and grab this illustration - show some love while you’re on site and have a look at the super fun stamp sets, dies, and digital images that are available.

Craft up one of these cute cards for your neighborhood crossing guard!
