Everyone Needs a Muse… Adorable Mouse Card
The inside reads “Everyone Needs a Muse (mouse)”…
Don’t you love receiving a simple yet fun “Thinking of You” card?
This adorable card “has it going on” with an ink splattered background - that was actually a stencil.
Some very subtle yet beautifully coordinated colors.
A super sweet little mouse, and a simple flower.
Very few elements that when thrown on this card front together create a lot of a-muse-ment!
So this card is meant to be fun, in that the card front says “thinking of you” and the inside reads “everyone needs a muse”.
A “muse” being someone’s inspiration, or in a more romantic term “of a particular person’s focus”. Originally a muse was known to be an artistic inspiration.
Lovely that we have broadened the term and now just more simply means “on my mind”, and makes a terrific phrase for the inside of a greeting card.
The adorable mouse featured on the card front comes from Alex Syberia’s - Sweet Friend bundle, which I purchased from Simon Says Stamp. This adorable stamp and die bundle just snuck right up on me - I just had to have it. It’s perfect for Sending some love. #sendingsomelove
The background was created using these handy dandy Stencils for Painting that I purchased on Amazon. They come in a pack of 8, I believe and have amazing texture background patterns for creating cards. - $10 bucks. You can’t beat that price. I use them all of the time. And actually… you’ll be addicted to these, so there are more packs available as well ( I will link those ) to feed your background stenciling addiction. They come with a key ring to hook them all on for easy storage.
So that’ being said… I obviously chose the paint splatter pattern to create this card. It seemed the perfect choice since I was going to be using the term “muse” in the inside of the card.
Ink Colors were: Distress Oxide-Spun Sugar , Distress Ink-Picked Raspberry, Distress Ink- Dried Marigold, Distress Ink-Saltwater Taffy
When using the background stencil I taped off the bottom inch and a quarter of the card just to add a little interest with that blank section on the card front. Later it became the home of 2 rhinestones.
The rest of the card was simply coloring the Mouse and Flower images with Copic Markers, adding foam tape and adhering to the card front.
I stamped the sweet little “thinking of you” sentiment included in the stamp set.
and… lastly added a few orange toned rhinestones.
I can’t wait to create a few more “Sweet Friend” cards with this simply adorable bundle.
