Create a Simple Valentine Card
Here’s a simple Valentine Card (doesn’t have to be a valentine) that is suitable for pretty much anyone…
Ok I get it, you don’t want to give it to your plumber, or newspaper boy cuz that may just be a little more affection that what’s needed.
For the most part this card is pretty safe to give to your partner, your grandchild, maybe your bestie. And… it’s so quick and easy to create you can give one to all of the above.
The card starts with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 layer of white cardstock. The bottom of the layer is scored at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 inch. The left side of the panel is scored at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 inch. This adds just a tiny bit of dimension and interest to an otherwise relatively plain design.
The teddy bear is stamped on the left hand side using black memento ink, as well as the sentiment.
The little heart is stamped in a red ink just hovering above the sentiment, or really wherever you would like it.
This “Well Loved” stamp set comes from Colorado Craft Company. It’s super adorable and super affordable!
A few rhinestones are added for a tiny touch of sparkle. My favorite gemstones are Spellbinders!
This panel is then attached to a card base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Scored at 4 1/4.
** Variation: for a little more color, start with a base layer of 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, then add the score lines and the stamping. Add this layer to a matt of red cardstock and attach to the card base. This will leave a slim border of red popping out that will coordinate with the heart.
Be sure to stamp a special greeting on the inside of the card before handing it off to your plumber…. :)
