Spook-tacular Halloween Card

Get ready to impress this Halloween season, let your spooky card making adventure begin with a super fun Polkadoodle digital image - Spooky Halloween House.

Creating the card:

The House:

I downloaded the Spooky House image, printed it and then cut using my Cricut machine. So easy!

I placed tiny scraps of paper over the back of the windows and jack-o-lanterns and then colored in the windows using a Copic Markers Y17, Y15.

I covered the house with Versa Mark ink and then clear embossing powder, then heat set to create a shiny illusion for the house.

The Background:

For the background on this card I started with a panel cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Using a yellow ink I started ink blending in the center of this panel moving outwards into an a bright green ink color. I continued to blend out using 2 shades of purple ink and finally a black soot ink around all of the edges to darken the sky into the distance.

I used 2 different mica sprays on the background an eerie green color as well as a shade of purple to further create a mystical vibe for the background.

The Card Shape:

Using the largest in a set of arch dies that I had in my stash I die cut the ink blended panel leaving the last 1/2 of the panel uncut - so do not send the very bottom edge of the die through your die cutting machine.

Remove the background from your die cutting machine and you will see where you very easily just make 2 snips to create the shape of a tombstone.

Repeat this technique using a card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored at 5 1/2.

To do this fold the card base ( like a closed card ). Place the top of the arch of the die just a bit above the fold line of the card so that when you run this through the die cutting machine you will be creating a hinge of about an inch or so ( the card fold ). So again be sure you are not cutting the very center ( top of the arch ) on your card base.

Cut the 2 little sections of the card base the same as the front panel to create the shape of a tombstone on the card base.

Attach the background panel to the front of the card base.

Final Details:

Add foam tape to the back of the haunted house and attach in the desired position on the card front.

Add the bats and the small tombstones that were part of the Spooky Haunted House download.

Add a little silver gel pen to highlight the RIP on the tombstones.

With a white or yellow gel pen add eyes to the bats.

Attach the greeting to the bottom of the tombstone using foam tape.

Add a few coordinating gems or sequins to the spooky night sky!

Perfect for sharing ghostly greetings with friends and family!!
