You Quack Me Up - Cute Card for Any Occasion!
A simple fun fold that is sure to amuze the recipient of this card featuring super cute ducks and a sentiment that reads “you QUACK me up!”
It doesn’t get any cuter than this…
The card layout has a simple score, fold, and a cut.
I featured the tutorial for this card design a few weeks ago and today I am sharing it again with a different focal point and theme for the card.
The measurements and execution are super simple.
To Create this card:
You will start with a card base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Scored @4 1/4.
Next: Score at 1 1/4 inches on the right side of the card base.
On the left side of the card base cut off 1 1/4 inches.
Pattern Paper Measurements:
The pattern papers I used were all from Polkadoodles Splashing Around 6x6 paper pack
*** Sale Alert: This paper is a 2 pack of paper for $2.00 You can’t beat that price! (2 packs for 2 bucks)
Paper 1 - 1 1/8 x 5 3/8. Emboss this strip with your favorite embossing folder.
Paper 2 - 2 7/8 x 5 3/8
White Cardstock - 2 7/8 x 5 3/8 9 (for the card inside)
You will also need:
Rectangle Die (or cut one) - 2 puddle shaped dies, or any type of shape you have that measures approximately 2 3/4 x 3 3/4. * Doesn’t have to be exact, just close.
Assembly:
Adhere the pattern paper sections to the coordinating spaces on the card base as you see pictured.
The shaped focal point layer is only attached to the card base section on the right. It does not attach to the left section of the card at all.
Focal Point - This card features:
I cut a puddle shaped die cut from white cardstock and stamped the sentiment. I then added a splatter of Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray to that section to depict water splashes.
I stamped & colored the water splashes included in this tiny but amazing stamp set, then added glossy accents to create a wet shine to the drops.
The final touch was a few added Paper Rose Shaker bits for added interest.
These clear crystal shaker elements are perfect embellishments for any card! They get used pretty much every day in my crafty space! Love them!
Does this card “quack” you up?
