Wobbling Farm Animals Interactive Card.

These adorable farm animals create the perfect interactive wobbling card!

Not in every case do you want your card front to wobble and sway, however in this case you do.

These totally cute farm animals are stacking themselves in a tower that wobbles and sways to and fro as the recipient moves the card.

Don’t worry - they won’t fall off…

I’m going to add a list below of supplies used to create the card and then we’ll get onto the actual creating of the card.

So this card was created using the same technique as the Wobbling Tea Cup Card. I would suggest if you haven’t seen that video that you give it a watch here: Wobbling Tea Cup Card Tutorial so you are able to complete the mechanism for this card to work. It’s super easy!

After watching the video… or maybe you already have we’ll move onto measurements.

You will need a white cardstock card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @5 1/2 or 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Scored @4 1/4.

Color Cardstock panel cut @ 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

White Cardstock layer cut @ 4 1/8 x 5 3/8

Scraps of white cardstock for stamping the farm animals.

Next: exactly that - stamp the farm animals using a Memento Black ink or whatever ink you normally stamp with when you intend to color the images. After stamping the sheep, horse, cow, goat, pig, and chick from the Lawn Fawn - Hay There stamp set. Allow the ink to dry for a few minutes to reduce the risk of smudging when coloring the images. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment on a scrap of paper and also the I love moo in a conversation bubble ( I love these tiny messages and conversation bubbles ), and a tiny heart.

Use Copic markers, pencil crayons or the coloring medium that you would normally use to color images.

Die cut the images using the coordinating Hay There Lawn Cuts.

Working with the white panel use a stencil to add in some grass and a small sun. If you don’t have said stencils of any type you can ink blend a bit of grassy green ink onto the bottom portion of the this layer and perhaps blend some sky blue ink onto the top portion of the card. I’m sure you can find something in your stash to make this work. Set aside to dry to a few minutes.

Back to the farm animals: Stack up the farm animals in the order you would like them to appear on your card front and using a piece of sticky note tape, mint tape or another low tack tape, apply the tape right down the front of your stack of animals. Just enough so it holds them in place in the stacked position.

Cut a piece of jewellery cord to about 6 inches and just lay the cord down the stack of animals, leaving about a inch and a half of cord on each end of the stack. Tape the jewellery cord to the back of each animal one at a time. Small piece of tape on the back of each animal. Tape a magnetic disc to the back of the top animal.

Gently lift the stack of animals and place them on the white cardstock layer in the position that you would like them to appear on the card. Holding both the panel and the stack of animals, use a small hole punch or even a paper piercer and mat to add a tiny hole behind the top stacked animal. So the hole will be covered up with that actual animal.

Repeat the same procedure with the bottom animal.

Stacking Farm Animal Card

Holding the stack of animals to the desired place on the cardstock layer feed the top tail of the jewellery cord though the top hole. Turn over and tape the jewellery cord to the back of the cardstock layer.

Repeat this process for the bottom hole. Do not pull the cord tight. Leave just a hint of slack. I used stretchy jewellery cord and I feel that gives a bit more play. However, you don’t want it really loose. Once both ends of the cord are taped in place give the card a gentle shake from side to side to test out the mechanism. The animals should wobble back and forth, tipsy turvy but not fall down… If the mechanism is working correctly continue to the next step, if not - troubleshoot!

Carefully remove the low tack tape that runs down the center of all of your animals. Be careful not to tear any of your beautiful coloring.

Using a generous amount of foam dots or foam tape on the back of this layer ( not a must - it doesn’t affect how the mechanism works, you can layer it flat as well).

Attach this layer to the front of the colored cardstock layer, then adhere to the card base.

Add the sentiment, the conversation bubble and the tiny heart.

Add a few coordinating rhinestones for added interest.

At this point I felt he card was just perfect so I didn’t add any other details to the images.

Stamp a greeting on the inside and coordinate up an envelope.

Should you give this card a try please let me know in the comments below or if you have any questions at all.
