Scruff the Dog…
Wishes you a “blooming great day”!
On the front of this super fun greeting card, you'll find “Scruff the Dog” joyfully watering some vibrant flowers. The design includes a die-cut sun and cloud, adding an extra touch of whimsy. The adorable dog featured on this card front watering his little garden of flowers comes from PolkaDoodles crafting, and he answers to the name “Scruff”. Any of the images featuring Scruff are going to make a lovable card!

The background was created by simply cutting a template from a piece of copy paper and a chosen frame die, you can use any frame you have. I cut the frame out of copy paper and attached it to the card front, then just blended some ink colors onto the background to represent grass and sky. Then removed the masking template to reveal the perfect bit of interest to the card background.
The sun and clouds were just random dies. Maybe you have a sun and clouds in your stash?
If you don’t I am willing to bet that PolkaDoodles has some in a pack of digis somewhere… I am everyday finding new and amazing images to cut or color at the website.
Here’s a quick example: Ephemera Digital Stamps - I noticed it had a few clouds and a bunch of other stuff.
Check it out! There are so many goodies to be found there to create our cards with. The ephemera and embellishments packs have so much cool stuff in them that you no longer need a leading image for your card - you can simply create using those die cuts or images.
Here is an example of that: Winnie Special Moments Embellishments , there are balloons, trees, pockets, apples, clouds, sun, flowers, butterflies… so right there is a cut file pack that includes a die cut sun and clouds that would work for today’s card.
After die cutting some supporting actors like the sun and cloud for this card simply attach some with foam tape and some with just glue to create dimension…and remember to place some outside of the frame. It gives the card over all more eye appeal! Add a few gems or rhinestones… or not!
The card turns out adorable!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s card and that it gives you a little creative inspiration… I hope you give the PolkaDoodles website a look and find a whole new adventure when it comes to paper crafting projects…
Happy Crafting!!
