Thank you Card with Cuteness, Attitude…

and … a gift card holder!! Surprise!!

It’s no secret I love creating with these Rebel Girls with an Attitude - I think it’s those big eyelashes!!

Well this card does not fall short on eyelashes or sass, paired with just a touch of cute!

It makes a great thank you card to send to a friend.

After coloring this lashful little chic, I paired her with some lovely yellow toned digital paper and attached her to a semi fun fold card layout. The design is quite simple and can most often be paired with pretty much any image.

I will, of course, just give you a sneak peek of the products used to create the card as well as the links, and then I’ll move on to the measurements and instructions.

So yet another card created using all digital elements! It’s just so easy!

Like someone create some digital glue and I’m all over it - like cheese on a pizza!!

I just want to take a hot minute to point out that the digital image above is for that of a Rebel Girl with a milkshake, however I wanted the drink to be an ice coffee.

That being said, I should not have colored my ice cubes in with a black fine liner ( they needed to be a touch softer ) but I wasn’t going to scrap a card that was already 90% done over that small detail. I just had to point that out in case you wondering what the black stuff floating in the cup was? Flies, leopard print, coffee beans, I’m not really sure what it looks like is happening there?!

All in all, when the card was finished that faux paux wasn’t even really noticed.

My reasoning for wanting the beverage to be iced coffee was because this card creation was intended to hold a gift card to go along with the thank you, and it does!

This makes the card so incredibly cool - cuz it comes with that added surprise element!

You can’t even tell it’s a gift card holder can you??

I love surprises, and chances are the recipient will to!

Cuz who gets a thank you card displaying ice coffee without then wanting one?!

I’ll give you the measurements for the card itself and then we’ll move on to the gift card holder part.

  • Cardstock - 4 1/4 x 7 1/2, Scored @ 5 1/2

  • Cardstock - 2 x 4 1/4

  • Cardstock - 4 1/8 x 2 5/8

  • Pattern paper - 4 1/8 x 1 7/8 ( cut 2 ) Be mindful of the direction of the stripes.

  • Image printed on white cardstock and trimmed down to 4 x 2 1/2

  • White cardstock - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 for card inside.

Color the printed image with Copics or chosen coloring tool. Adhere to the matching piece of yellow cardstock.

Cut and score the card base. Adhere 1 section of the pattern paper to the 2 inch flap section of the card base.

Adhere the 2nd piece of the pattern paper to the remaining piece of yellow cardstock.

Apply glue to the back of the layer with the image. ** Apply glue only to the top and bottom sections.

Holding the card base in place, as though it were the full card - fit the bottom layer section into place, while holding this all in place attach the image layer to the far left of the card front (not quite to edge of the card base).

Be sure the layer is straight top and bottom and that it now resembles a full A2 sized card.

Adhere the inside panel to the card base. Close the front, and carefully stamp the desired greeting in the white space that shows from the card inside.

That’s the basic part of the card completed other than adding any details such as highlights, gems or rhinestones.

I’m tempted to add mascara!

I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze to fill in the glass parts of the sunglasses just to give the glasses a cool effect. Next time I would use a tinted shade of Glossy Accents so they appear more like sunglasses. However, even the clear ones add a fun little shine to the card front.

I added an additional message to the inside of the card front and you’ll see that when we move on to part 2 of this card… the surprise gift card holder!

Step 2 - Gift Card Holder

This gift card holder is quick and easy and works perfectly with this card layout! Though I am sure it could be used inside many different card designs if you wanted to add a place to hold a gift card.

Measurements:

White Cardstock - 2 1/2 x 4

Yellow Striped Paper - 1 1/2 in square, cut diagonally.

Add tear and tape to 2 short sides of the diagonal pieces and adhere in opposing corners of the white cardstock layer. Pretty much as pictured in the finished card inside below.

Glue the white cardstock layer to the inside of card exactly over the place where the focal point sits on the card front ( so on the backside of the focal point layer ) .

Tuck the gift card under the 2 diagonal corner pockets.

I know… the gift card was supposed to be for iced coffee - however at the time of the photo I didn’t have one for coffee! Oooops!

I had previously used the diagonal pattern paper corners to decorate the inside of the card, so this quick layout for the gift card pocket was just perfect for this card!

Thoughts on the overall card and gift holder? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Crafting!!
