Gorgeous Floral Card using Digital Stamp - Hollyhock
Did you think Polka Doodles only has digital images of cutesy little animal characters, gnomes and fairies?!?!
Definitely not the case!! They have so many images, that even though I want to, it is so hard to work with and showcase them all. I have such a huge thought process in my head for card creation using PolkaDoodles digital images because the possibilities are just endless.
** Just a quick note before I have you thinking that Polka Doodles only provides digital images - they have a large variety of clear stamps, papers, and paper crafting tools available on the website. So not just for digital use.
So just to go back to this card in particular…
It was created with a digital image called Alcea Hollyhock Flowers. The download includes 4 black & white images for coloring, 4 pre colored images ( for those of you who don’t like to color ), 5 gorgeous digital papers, and 4 coordinating sentiments. Again… endless possibilities to create fabulous cards!
I used a random die from my stash to create the lattice type background, but here’s a little fun fact that I discovered on the Polka Doodles web site after creating this card: there is a cutting file available that will give you the same effect that you can purchase from the website.
How cool is that?
So even if you don’t happen to have a particular die that will give you a die cut background like this… you can still create the background!! I think that’s super awesome!
The patterned paper I used is a Polka Doodles digital paper, however right now - it’s a complete toss up in my brain as to which delightful paper pack that I printed it from. I will try to figure that out. I know I have used this particular pattern several times.
Any pattern paper of your choosing would work. It was really just to create a little something behind the lattice work so that the shadow could be seen after placing foam tape on areas of the lattice work to create dimension.
After getting the background assembled and looking fantastic I chose the desired floral image ( remember there are 4 to choose from ) and colored it using Copic Markers and fussy cut the image. Then simply adhered the Hollyhocks down in the bottom corner where I had envisioned them and trimmed off any excess hang over.
I trimmed down the sentiment which was included with the download, and added it to the card front.
My stash contained a bunch of these cute little lady bug embellishments and I decided one of those added to the card would just perfect for a little extra detail.
I added Wink of Stella glitter pen to floral blooms and a few clear dots to resemble water droplets on the blooms.
And didn’t the card just turn out beautiful?
Did you know?
Polka Doodles has an extremely large collection of floral images to create with - daisies, dahlias, tulips and so many more…
