Freddy Fox Fall Scrapbusting Card

Today, we are once again turning paper scraps into beauty…

Fall has definitely been in full force - leaves are falling everywhere, trees almost naked from every view. The ground is a carpet of beautiful vibrant yellows and oranges. The temperatures leave us basking in the warm daytime sun while the evenings are chilly and in need of some pumpkin spice warming or perhaps even a small bonfire allowing us to enjoy the last of the crisp autumn evenings.

If you happen to land under an apple tree, the ground covering will have an added wealth of delicious red apples mixed in with beautifully colored fallen leaves. What we call the “ground fall” apples.

This card front depicts that Freddy the Fox, whom is just perfectly colored to blend in with fall, isn’t he?,, has collected some ground fall apples and is in fact enjoying a juicy delicious apple treat while leisurely relaxing in the actual collecting bucket. What a delightful way to spend a warm sunny fall afternoon!

The focal image here is another from the Autumn Fall Fox Bundle from Polkadoodles, paired with just a hint of a fall plaid digital paper. A warmer tone sets the stage with the switch to a vanilla card stock base. The background panel features a print from my/your favorite embossing folder for a little added texture and interest on this super fun scrap-busting autumn card.

The Autumn Fall Fox Bundle contains 18 black & white images to color, 18 precolored images, 42 black & white ephemera to color, 42 precolored ephemera images, 34 sentiments, 32 pattern papers and more…

It’s an incredible package to download with the ability to create tons of fabulous fall themed cards - I think one image even transpires into Freddy and some falling snowflakes.

So let’s stop gazing at fall leaves and eating delicious bites of crisp autumn apples for a sec and get into the makings of this absolutely adorable card…

Card pieces:

Card base (vanilla) - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Scored @ 4 1/4

Pattern Paper - 3/4 x 2 3/4 ( cut 2 pieces )

Vanilla Cardstock - 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 ( emboss this section )

Instructions:

Cut and score the card pieces.

Attach the strips of pattern paper on either side of the horizontal card base as pictured in the card above.

Add foam tape to the back of the embossed layer of vanilla cardstock and adhere centered over the pattern paper strips.

Color, cut and adhere the Freddy Fox image.

Adhere a greeting. I used a random greeting from my stash.

***Tip: If you are stamping a greeting directly onto the vanilla cardstock layer - be sure to do this before embossing this section, otherwise you won’t be able to stamp on the embossed paper very well.

Lastly add a few gems, rhinestones or sequins to give the card front a touch of added interest.

This card could be used as a fall birthday card, a get well card, a thinking of you card… many possibilities just by changing up the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and the chance to use up just a few more paper scraps hanging about in your craft space, turning scraps into beautiful cards.

The fall season comes and goes far to quickly so get out there and enjoy some of the beauty it has to offer while enjoying some of the warmer temp days, then use the beauty that was inspired on those days and transfer it to card fronts on the cooler days that are better suited for crafting and sipping a pumpkin spice latte….
