Create a Gorgeous Fall Leaf Card

Do have some random fall leaf dies?

A few ink pads in somewhat fall colors?

Ink Daubers or Blending Brushes?

If so… I would love to see what you create using this fun color technique and card layout!!

Start with a fair sized piece of white cardstock - enough to cut out the leaf die cuts for the card. You can also choose to use up some scraps of white cardstock also allowing you to make each leaf color unique.

I colored one section of paper and cut all of my leaf die cuts from it.

Well… I didn’t actually color the paper with markers or crayons or that type of coloring. I used ink daubers ( the finger kind ) and randomly blotted fall colors - red, green, yellows & oranges. The red was actually a Stampin’ Up Cherry Cobbler. I also used a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock to matte my creation for the card front.

Back to creating the leaves - Randomly blot all of the colors onto the white cardstock until you are left with a beautiful piece of paper wafting of fall vibes. If you don’t have finger daubers you could blend patches of ink onto the white cardstock to get a similar result. Use what you have.

If you have some Tim Holtz mica spray (or something similar ) in a fall shade, this would be a great time to add a splatter of that to your now fall colored paper. Or even add splatter of acrylic paints. Let the paper dry before die cutting the desired leaves from the paper.

While you wait for the drying process ( it won’t take long ) cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 x 5 1/2.

Emboss this layer with a embossing folder such as wood grain, tiles or whatever you have really, it’s just to add a little more detail to the card front. I used chose to use a wood grain for the embossing.

I also chose to stamp a little light brown ink onto the raised panel section of the embossing folder to achieve the weathered wood look for my background.

Matte the embossed layer onto a piece of colored cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I used Cherry Cobbler.

Gorgeous Die Cut Leaves Create a Beautiful Fall Card

Assemble the leaves in arrangement on the front of the card that makes you happy! I glued some right to the front panel and some I adhered with foam tape.

I heat embossed a “so grateful” sentiment using gold embossing powder. Trimmed down the sentiment and back it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, and adhered it to the card front with foam tape.

Attach this card front to a card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @ 5 1/2.

I added a few sparkling fall gems from my stash of “all things sparkly and fun”. You can add anything you like.

The end result was a beautiful fall themed card that could be used for several different occasions during this season.

This card used all random things from my stash that were old or retired items, however in my craft space “if they are beautiful and purposeful - they stay”!!

I love the chance to make use of the products I already own!!

Give this card a try! I would love to see your results! You can send them to me here
