The two cards in this post both feature adorable fall illustrations from #GerdaSteinerDesigns
Not familiar with Gerda Steiner Designs? Have a look at the website here and get acquainted with some seriously fun little characters. The designs are super fun and easy to color and the creativity is endless.
So if you haven’t checked out Gerda Steiner Designs yet - here’s another reason you should…
The sketch used to create the card below is completely free!! Yep! That’s right, it’s free!
Here is the link to grab that - Happy Fall Greeting Card Printable
To create the card below I simply downloaded the free printable Gerda Steiner Designs, printed it a bit smaller than an A2 sized card front (since I knew I wanted to mask around it). I created a mask with just a simple piece of copy paper, a rectangle die and repositionable tape.
I colored the image and extended a bit of the grassy section beyond where I knew the mask for blending would be placed. You don’t have to do that… I just like the look of the clean crisp masked edge effect but going outside the box a bit, so to speak.
When the coloring was finished, I adhered the mask with repositionable tape and blended green ink onto the grassy section and a nice sky blue randomly through the rest of the scene. Then removed the mask.
I added a few orange colored rhinestones just for a little added interest. Trimmed the layer to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and layered it onto a section of orange cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, and adhered this to a card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored at 5 1/2.
If you think this design is cute, wait until you see the second card - I’ve got some big news about that design as well!!
Are these little mice to cute or what?!
I just love them! They look so darn excited to be welcoming the fall season!
As I said above the illustration in for this card is also a Gerda Steiner Design, and equally as adorable as the first.
What I discovered about this design when looking it up to share the link with you - It’s also free right now. I purchased this approximately 2 weeks ago, so super exciting that you can now try the design for free! Both of the designs used to create the cards today are absolutely free!
So hop on over and give Gerda Steiner Designs some love! There are so many great images to create with!!
