Interactive Frosty Fun Card

“May the Little Things Bring You Happiness”

Though I am not a snowman and don’t know any bears that skate, this card took me back to a time reminiscent of a winter carnival. To one in particular, and that was our local celebration of winter - the “Frosty Fling”!

Now that may be due to the fact that there is an oversized friendly snowman who roams around from one winter themed event to another sharing laughter and smiles with the towns people or;

It could be that the card has a chill lookin’ snowman and a cutesy little bear in a sweater and scarf gliding along on skates- and you don’t see that everyday?!

However at the annual “Frosty Fling” in our village it was something that was not at all unusual to see! The carnival brought with it a huge family fun night of skating in costume served up with hot chocolate and marshmallows.

This carnival skate event was an extravaganza uniting the youngest of budding skaters with the most seasoned pros in a celebration of community. Families of all shapes and sizes came together, filling the rink with laughter, joy, and a flurry of colorful costumes. From the little ones wobbling on their skates to the elders gliding effortlessly, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and camaraderie.

With music echoing and smiles all around, the event captured the essence of winter fun, showcasing the magic that happens when a passion for skating intertwines with the warmth of family, friendship and community. Whether you were there to skate, cheer, or simply soak in the good vibes, this carnival event was a well received experience for all!

These frosty happenings took a pause a few years back, as did most of the country…

The Carnival has since made a vibrant return, however, one cherished event seems to have slipped through the cracks: . Once a highlight for many, this ice-bound gathering leaves whispers of nostalgia lingering in the air, urging organizers to revive the magic of family skating once more.

Will the spirit of togetherness return, gliding gracefully across the ice, or will it remain a fond memory in the carousel of time?

The card features a super fun digital image from Polkadoodles - Ice Skating Snowman & Bear. This adorable duo were colored using Copic Markers. The background started to take shape with ink blended trees using a stencil from Whimsy Stamps - Winter Wonderland. Nuvo Glossy accents formed the ice, and some plain old fashioned glue and glitter make up the sparkling snow for the backdrop.

The skaters glide back and forth across the card via a semi circle track cut from an interactive die that many card makers will find in their stash, or can be easily found at local or online craft suppliers.

May the Little Things Bring You Happiness” is a fabulous sentiment for many card occasions or simply just because…

The sentiment was pulled from a stamp set in my Lawn Fawn stash.
